The most common type of interpreting is a combination of consecutive and chuchotage but every project is unique and we will assess which solution is best for you. At round tables, press conferences, radio shows, or television interviews for Web TV, time is tight. The interviewers and journalists – and record companies for the music sector – are there to ask the artists all the questions they have planned. Here it is more important than ever to rely on a professional interpreter who translates everything precisely at a good pace. My translation has to be fast, complete, and precise to respect the quick pace and convey both the artist's message and thoughts as well as the emotions they experience and want to share with others. Interpreting for a theatrical actress means I need to have a real experience of the world where the artist operates, knowing the industry language, and the entire story of her career (there are always questions about how she prepared for the role and important meetings that shaped her artistic life) The same goes if I interpret for a foreign singer who comes to Italy to promote the release of their new album: I have to be up to date on their biography, discography, and if they have been featured with other artists (references to aspects of their professional and private life are always lying in wait and I have to be able to handle them!) I also have to know the music genre and its big names. I have to know how to give expression to the words of every artist respecting how they express themselves (I prepare by watching videos of interviews they have given) so the translation can reflect their personality and bring them closer to an international audience.

How far in advance do I need to contact you for interpreting in the music, dance, and theatre sectors?

Write me as soon as you realize you want to plan your project, possibly 1 month before the event. That makes it more likely that I'll be available and can prepare far enough in advance and in-depth.

I can consider last-minute requests but I can't ensure my availability. I could already be committed to another project or need more time to ensure top quality.

How long does it take to translate a text?

I translate about 2,000 words a day, but the time it takes can vary from project to project. After the translation is done, I need to “let it sit” to then revise it with fresh eyes and correct any typos or errors. Only then is it ready to be delivered.

Can you keep the formatting of the original text?

Yes! I use software that lets me translate your text while maintaining its format and layout.
